Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 25, 2026
This policy explains what data Blipp collects, what it's used for, and how you can control it. By using the app, you agree to what's described here.
Blipp is developed and maintained in Portugal, so handling of your data follows the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). If you play from Brazil, LGPD protects you the same way — both laws ask for essentially the same guarantees, described below.
What we collect
Only what the game needs to work and to keep the rankings running:
- An anonymous account identifier, created automatically the first time you open the app. We don't ask for an email or password to play.
- The nickname and avatar you choose— shown publicly on each mode's ranking.
- Your game results: score, correct answers, mode played. This is what powers the rankings and your own history.
- Your Google account (optional): if you choose "Continue with Google" to protect your progress, we use your Google email only for authentication — it's never shown publicly or used for anything else.
- Technical audio error logs, used only to identify and fix playback bugs.
What we don't do
- We don't use your data for advertising.
- We don't sell or share your data with third parties for commercial purposes.
- We don't track you outside the app.
Who your data sits with
Blipp runs on Supabase's infrastructure (database and authentication). Song previews come from the public Apple/iTunes API, which only receives the technical lookup for a track — not your nickname, email, or score.
Your rights
You can delete your account at any time right from the app (Profile → Delete account). This permanently erases your nickname, avatar, and every score on record — there's no undoing it.
You also have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you;
- Correct incomplete or outdated data;
- Request portability of your data to another service;
- Object to processing, or ask that it be restricted.
To exercise any of these rights, write to contact@playblipp.com. If you're in Portugal or elsewhere in the European Union and feel we haven't handled your request properly, you can also complain directly to the CNPD — Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados(cnpd.pt), Portugal's data protection authority.
Children
Blipp is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children in that age group.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The date at the top of this page always reflects the latest version.
